Starting it, Stopping it, and Landing on the Moon…

They say start a thing on the new moon, culminate or announce on the full moon. If you want it to succeed that is. When I say “They”, I mean most everyone up until about 80 years ago. Look in to a Farmer’s almanac, it reads to the modern mind as a magical grimoire. Plant then, harvest then. Set a fence post in the waxing moon, as one set during a waning moon will sink. Crones say hair cut during a waxing moon stimulates growth, but cut during a waning moon slows it. I have found that starting on the new moon adds lift to the launch. A full moon is a tangible deadline to meet. It’s hard to blow off the finish line for a night of frivolity with the full moon following you around town all night. Does it add power? Ask a tribal elder, from any corner of the earth. At minimum the sky clock is immutable and when I attach my work to natural revolutions then my labor exhibits force of nature. Which leads me to some huge-normous procrastinating I am confessing: the maiden voyage of this blog. The Deep Chat.

This site has sit a few years now, quietly trafficking graphic design talismans and sigils for the discerning quester, absent it’s true purpose, the chatter. I look forward to talking more about the ethos, the family behind the products and how one rabbit hole is someone else’s superhighway. Today, this moment, I simply announce.

Today this idea ideates. On the full moon. This was an idea 7 years ago. A shirt, then a company. Then it was documented benefits. Then a lot of life and priority wrestling and I found a burrito full of delicious self-doubt that I must have missed when I cleaned up my head a while back. Well I indulged and it digested poorly and now, I am back in the saddle. So here is to unveiling the blog, and to starting a thing. And here is to the death of inaction. Execute the mission, cease the refusing. I am here and I am ready to spill it. Stay tuned…
